Welcome to South Tampa Ultimate Website

This is a website dedicated to our Sunday morning Ultimate-Frisbee-pickup-group.   We are constantly looking for more people to come out and play.  All experience levels are welcomed to come out.  We focus more on having fun and getting exercise than following strict rules.  We play on Sunday mornings at 10am at Riverside Park (by University of Tampa). Anderson Elementary.

NOTE : Starting Sunday May 1, 2011, this game will now be at Anderson Elementary.

The reasons for the move are :
      1) We can now have 2 games going at once
      2) The fields are in much better condition
      3) Riverfront is going to be closed for resodding

New rules
No dogs (or any pets)
Kids are highly discouraged from playing (feel free to bring them out to watch or play on the sidelines)
Do not leave any trash behind at all
Return the Lacrosse goals to the designated positions after play has ended for the day

Ultimate is an exciting, non-contact team sport, played by thousands the world over. It mixes the best features of sports such as Soccer, Basketball, American Football and Netball into an elegantly simple yet fascinating and demanding game. To compete at the top level, Ultimate players require an unmatched degree of speed, stamina and agility.   To compete in our game, you must show up and try -- we don't require much speed, stamina, or agility... :-)

Yet the simplicity of the rules means it's easy and fun for newcomers to pick up.  In fact, we have a very simplistic set of rules (Click here to see our general rules).  If you want to see a full set of rules and full understanding of all concepts, click here.

Substitutions Policy:  After each  point is scored team members of either side sitting on the sideline can decide  that they are ready to come back in.  They simply come out onto the field  and call for a sub. Any member on that team previously on the field can volunteer to come out and sit. We ask that team members try to rotate out regularly in order of longest on the field going out first.  In other words, someone who just came on one point ago stays on while someone who has already played a few points goes off.  Likewise a player who just came off should wait more than 1 point before going back on the field in cases where the next  point is quickly scored or when there are many people waiting to sub.  This ensures that everyone gets ample chance to play.
